Local Businesses: see which places AI recommends
When someone asks an AI model for "the best dentist in Madrid" or "a bakery near me", the answer often includes a list of places with their address and rating. Local Businesses collects those lists so you can see which places get recommended, how often, and where yours stand. Available on every plan.
You will find it in the sidebar under Prompt Insights > Local Businesses once one of your prompts has returned a list of places. Until then the item stays hidden. It is also available in embedded and white-label portals.
What it shows
- Stat cards: unique businesses, total appearances, average rating, your locations, and the number of responses that listed businesses, each compared with the previous period
- Businesses tab: one row per business with its address, average rating, review count, average position in the list, the number of prompts that listed it and how many times it appeared. A "You" badge marks your own locations and the competitor's name marks a tracked competitor's. Use the "All businesses / Your locations only" toggle to focus on yours, and export the table to CSV or Excel
- Trends tab: weekly charts for unique businesses, appearances, the 5 businesses that appear most often, and average rating
- Responses tab: the prompts and AI answers that listed businesses, with how many each one listed, plus CSV or Excel export
A business is its name at its address. If the same place shows up in many answers, it is counted once with all its appearances, while two branches of a chain stay as separate rows.
How to use it
- Open Prompt Insights > Local Businesses
- Sort the Businesses tab by appearances, rating, reviews or average position
- Search by name or address to find a specific place
- Narrow the results by date range, tags, brand type, country or language, and by AI model when more than one model returned local results
- Open a response from the Responses tab to read the full answer and see the list as the model returned it
Tips & notes
- Lists of places appear when a prompt has local intent. Add prompts like "best running store in Barcelona" or "pediatrician near Retiro" to start collecting them
- Today these lists come from ChatGPT answers. Other models may add them later
- Your locations are matched from your project's brand and website. Competitor locations are matched to your tracked competitors
- Position 1 is the first place in the list, so a lower average position is better
- The same data is available through the API (
GET /api/v1/dimensions/local_businesses) and the MCP toollist_local_businesses
