Brand Radar lands on a lot of shortlists for one reason: it arrives with a subscription plenty of SEO teams already hold. You open a tab you were opening anyway and there is your brand’s mention share in AI answers, beside the backlink data.

That convenience runs out. Most teams looking for Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives like the reporting well enough. What pushes them out is a prompt ceiling, or wanting to read the answers behind the rolled up score.

What Brand Radar does well

Ahrefs homepage promoting search and AI visibility, with sign-up buttons and a preview of its marketing analytics dashboard

A small allowance of tracked AI prompts is included on Ahrefs paid plans, so if you already subscribe for backlinks and keyword research, the AI reporting costs nothing extra to switch on. As a first look at AI visibility, it is the easiest start there is.

Coverage is broad: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, a wider list than several dedicated tools offer at entry level. It reports mentions, citations, AI share of voice and sentiment, which maps closely to the GEO metrics worth tracking, and custom prompts are checked daily.

When a team shows me its AI visibility setup, I look at the prompt list before the dashboard. Almost every time it was written to fit an allowance, so it is all head terms and brand names. The questions where buyers compare options are missing, and those are the ones where you can still change the answer.

Where teams outgrow it

The limitation is the tracked AI prompt allowance on the main plans, which Ahrefs now meters in checks: one prompt, on one platform, in one location, once. Lite at EUR 119 per month includes 150 checks a month, Standard at EUR 229 includes 300 and Advanced at EUR 419 includes 600. That is 5, 10 or 20 prompts checked daily on a single platform. Spread them across several platforms and the prompt count shrinks with it, and Claude uses eight checks per update.

Five prompts is a spot check, and twenty will not cover an ecommerce catalogue, a multi-country positioning map or an agency with several clients. Scaling means the AI Visibility Index tier at EUR 179 per month (83 prompts a day, 2,500 checks), or custom prompt packages from about EUR 47 per month. Both are sold standalone, so you no longer need the full suite to get more prompts, but the unit stays the same: checks you budget across platforms.

The second reason is how the product is built. A module inside an SEO suite inherits that suite’s reporting model, where the unit is the keyword or the domain rolled into a score. Dedicated tools are built around the individual answer: this prompt, on this model, on this date, named these brands in this order and cited these URLs. If your next question after “share of voice fell” is “show me the answers where we lost the mention”, you want the second kind of product.

1. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse homepage promoting AI search visibility tracking, with a product dashboard preview, free-trial and demo buttons, and customer logos

We build this one, so treat it as the interested party’s pitch and check the numbers. It is a standalone platform built around prompt-level answer data.

Every plan tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. DeepSeek, Grok, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, Naver AI Briefing, Naver AI Tab, Baidu AI, Qwen, Doubao and Alexa for Shopping (formerly Amazon Rufus) are paid add-on models. MiniMax, Mistral, Walmart Sparky and Brave AI are available through Talk to sales, and the team sets them up for approved paid accounts.

  • Brand mentions, share of voice, competitor benchmarking and sentiment, with the raw answer text behind every data point
  • Citation and source tracking, so you can work on the sources that feed the answers
  • Prompt research, query fan-out, Models Comparison, GEO Writer, GEO Testing and a Search Console integration that turns real queries into prompts
  • AI Traffic analytics from GA4, Plausible, PostHog or Adobe for human visits from assistants, and Agent Analytics reading your logs for AI bot hits
  • ChatGPT Ads tracking and the Ads Library, ChatGPT Shopping, app store tracking and Reddit Intelligence
  • REST API, CLI, MCP server, signed webhooks, a Data Studio (formerly Looker Studio) connector, a Power BI connector in private beta, and CSV output from the API that Tableau can read through its own REST connector
  • Unlimited team members, and white label and iframe embed for agencies

What surprised me most building this is how often the score and the answer tell different stories. Share of voice holds steady while the model starts describing you with an old price or a competitor’s feature. You only catch that by reading the answers, so we made sure every number leads back to the text behind it.

Two watch-outs. Prompts run weekly by default, with daily and monthly also available, so an allowance buys fewer individual answers than a tool running everything daily at the same count. Line the plans up on answers when you compare them. Second, the surface area is large, and if you want one score on a dashboard each month, a smaller tool will feel lighter. Our trial needs a card.

Pricing: Starter EUR 49 for 50 prompts, Growth EUR 99 for 150, Scale EUR 299 for 450, Scale+ EUR 599 for 1,200, Scale++ EUR 1,199 for 2,400, Enterprise custom. Prompts are per week, per model, and annual is ten times the monthly price (pricing page).

2. Profound

Profound’s homepage promotes AI marketing agents for Claude and shows a visual workflow for generating SEO content and research

This is the enterprise-leaning option, and the one most likely to clear a security review without a fight, with SOC 2 compliance and SSO/SAML on its Enterprise plan. Prompts run daily.

Profound no longer publishes a self-serve price. The pricing page shows a free seven-day trial with 50 recommended prompts run daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, limited to one language and one region, with no history, exports or API. Everything else is Enterprise, quoted in a sales conversation, with up to nine answer engines, API access and custom prompt sets. Its FAQ mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan but does not list its price.

Pricing: free seven-day trial, then Enterprise at a custom price.

3. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI’s homepage introduces its AI search visibility service and shows an Adidas brand report with coverage trends and brand mentions

The cheapest genuine entry point among the established tools: USD 29 a month for 15 prompts, running daily, so they produce far more answers than the number implies. Four base engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot.

The add-ons are where the price moves. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons, not base engines, so matching Brand Radar’s seven costs more than the sticker, and the top self-serve plan stops at 400 prompts.

Pricing: Lite USD 29 for 15 prompts, Standard USD 189 for 100, Premium USD 489 for 400, Enterprise custom from 1,000 prompts.

4. SE Ranking and SE Visible

SE Ranking’s homepage promotes an SEO and AI visibility platform, with free-trial and demo buttons and customer logos

SE Ranking sells AI search tracking two ways: inside its SEO platform, or as SE Visible standalone. SE Visible is the volume play, and its Agency tier at EUR 355 a month for 1,000 prompts across five engines is the lowest per-prompt price of any self-serve tool here.

The two products cause confusion when you quote them internally, so be clear about which one you mean. The SEO plans include only 25 daily prompts, with more through an AI visibility add-on. SE Visible plans run daily, and the Agency tier can also run weekly, so check which cadence a quote assumes before lining it up against another tool.

Pricing: SE Ranking Core EUR 109 and Growth EUR 235 per month billed monthly, each with 25 daily prompts across five LLMs. Standalone SE Visible is EUR 80 for 75 prompts (Basic), EUR 169 for 200 (Core) and EUR 355 for 1,000 (Agency) billed monthly, with a 10-day trial.

5. Scrunch AI

Scrunch’s homepage shows a prompt about top-rated AGI tools and panels summarizing AI search activity, cited domains, and sentiment

Scrunch puts as much weight on audit and remediation as on tracking. Core adds five site audits a month to the monitoring, with 125 unique prompts, 5,000 responses a month, one brand workspace and five user licenses across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot.

Watch the entry price and the engine tiering. USD 250 is the highest start here, four engines is fewer than Brand Radar’s seven, and nine-engine coverage, API access and the Looker Studio connector live on Enterprise. One brand workspace means a second brand is a second cost, and the seven-day trial is tight for a product whose patterns take weeks to appear.

Pricing: Core USD 250 per month for 125 prompts, Enterprise custom.

6. Rankability

Rankability’s homepage promotes predictable SEO and AI visibility results, with dashboard previews and client agency logos

Rankability now sells to agencies, and AI tracking comes bundled with content production. Every plan includes 11 AI platforms checked daily, API and MCP access, unlimited client workspaces and unlimited team members, so there is no per-user tax as the team grows.

The volume ceiling arrives early. Public plans stop at 500 tracked AI queries on Agency Pro at USD 497, and the price mostly pays for the content projects, audits and keyword tracking alongside them. If you only want AI visibility data, you are buying a lot you will not use.

Pricing: Starter USD 97 for 100 tracked AI queries, Agency USD 297 for 300, Agency Pro USD 497 for 500, with a seven-day trial that needs a card.

Also worth considering

Searchable keeps regions and seats unlimited on every tier: Pro USD 125 for 100 prompts per model and one project, Scale USD 400 for 500 and ten projects, Enterprise USD 999 for 1,250. Base plans track three engines, the rest are paid add-ons.

Siftly starts free with 10 prompts checked weekly, then Starter USD 79 for 50, Growth USD 249 for 100 and Scale USD 599 for 150, with engine counts rising from two to eight.

SISTRIX includes its Prompt Tracking, still in beta, in every package at no extra charge from EUR 119 per month. The Start package allows 9,300 prompt updates a month, against 150 checks on Ahrefs Lite at the same price.

ZipTie has no fixed tiers: you configure prompts, engines and cadence. It covers seven engines, keeps seats and projects unlimited, and sells API and MCP as a USD 10 per month add-on.

How to choose

How many prompts do you need? Count the questions a real buyer asks before choosing you, multiply by markets and product lines, and you usually land between 50 and 500. Under 20 in one country, Brand Radar as you own it may be right. Over 100, the allowance becomes the dominant cost.

Do you need to read the answers? Scores tell you something changed, answer text tells you what to do. If the workflow ends at a monthly slide, rolled up metrics are enough. If someone has to fix the visibility, they need citations and raw responses.

Which engines are in the base plan? Entry prices are often quoted for fewer engines than the headline suggests, so check before comparing.

Where does the data end up? If the answer is a warehouse, a client portal or an internal assistant, filter on API, MCP and white label first. Settle traffic attribution early too: GA4 has an AI Assistant default channel, but Google’s documentation puts AI Overviews and AI Mode inside Organic Search, so clicks from Google’s AI surfaces never land in that channel. The rest is in our guide to choosing an AI visibility tool.

What this costs per tracked prompt

The fair comparison is price per tracked prompt per month, and even that needs a cadence footnote: a weekly prompt produces about 4.33 scheduled answers per model per month, a daily prompt about 30.

Tool and plan Price Prompts Cadence Per prompt
Ahrefs Advanced EUR 419 20 Daily, 1 platform EUR 20.95, suite included
Scrunch AI Core USD 250 125 5,000 responses a month USD 2.00
Otterly.AI Premium USD 489 400 Daily USD 1.22
Rankability Agency USD 297 300 Daily USD 0.99
LLM Pulse Growth EUR 99 150 Weekly by default EUR 0.66
LLM Pulse Scale+ EUR 599 1,200 Weekly by default EUR 0.50
SE Visible Agency EUR 355 1,000 Daily or weekly EUR 0.36

Two caveats, one against us. The Ahrefs row is not really a per-prompt price: that subscription also buys a backlink index and keyword research none of the other rows include, so if you need the suite anyway those bundled prompts are close to free.

The other cuts our way. At LLM Pulse Growth, EUR 0.66 per prompt at weekly cadence across five included models is roughly EUR 0.03 per answer. Otterly.AI Premium at USD 1.22 per prompt, daily across four base engines, is roughly USD 0.01 per answer. Per prompt we are cheaper. Per answer, at default cadence, a daily tool can beat us. Which matters depends on whether you need many distinct questions or high frequency on a few.

Switching notes

Run both tools for a full month before cancelling anything. Absolute numbers will not match between any two AI visibility tools: prompt sets, sampling, model versions and regions all move the figure. Direction should match, and if one says you are climbing while the other says you are falling over the same weeks, find out why before trusting either.

Rebuild the prompt list instead of porting it. A 5 or 20 prompt set was shaped by a ceiling, so it skews toward head terms, while 150 or 450 covers the comparison, alternatives and “is X good for Y” questions where brand preferences form.

Then pair the visibility data with a source you do not control. Search Console’s Generative AI performance report counts how many times links to your site were shown in a generative AI feature on Google Search, covering AI Overviews and AI Mode. It is impressions only, with no clicks, CTR or position, and the usual limits apply including the 1,000 row cap (Google’s documentation). It cannot tell you what an answer said about you, but it is an independent check that the work is moving something.

Summary

If you already pay for Ahrefs, need fewer than 20 tracked prompts and want AI data beside your organic data, Brand Radar is a reasonable answer and switching would cost more than it returns.

Past that it splits by constraint. Profound for enterprise procurement, if a sales-led contract suits you. Otterly.AI to start cheaply at daily cadence. SE Visible for volume. Scrunch AI when audits matter as much as tracking. Rankability for agencies that want content production and tracking in one bill. LLM Pulse for prompt-level answer data, citations and the integration surface, cadence caveat included. Our roundup covers the full field of AI visibility tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is Brand Radar included in my Ahrefs subscription?

A small allowance is. Lite at EUR 119 per month includes 150 checks a month, Standard at EUR 229 includes 300 and Advanced at EUR 419 includes 600, which is 5, 10 or 20 prompts checked daily on one platform. Beyond that you need the AI Visibility Index tier at EUR 179 per month or a custom prompt package from about EUR 47 per month.

Can I buy Brand Radar without the rest of Ahrefs?

Yes. Ahrefs sells Brand Radar's AI tracking on its own, without a base subscription: the AI Visibility Index tier from EUR 179 per month and custom prompt packages from about EUR 47 per month.

What is the cheapest Ahrefs Brand Radar alternative?

By entry price, Otterly.AI at USD 29 for 15 prompts. By cost per tracked prompt, SE Visible Agency at EUR 355 for 1,000 prompts and LLM Pulse Scale+ at EUR 599 for 1,200. Cheapest entry and cheapest per prompt are rarely the same product.

Can I keep Ahrefs and add a dedicated AI visibility tool?

Yes, and plenty of teams do. Nothing here replaces a backlink index or a keyword database, so you keep Ahrefs for those. The question is whether the bundled prompt allowance still earns its keep once a second tool covers AI tracking.

Does weekly prompt tracking miss things daily tracking catches?

It catches fewer short-lived swings, since a weekly prompt produces about 4.33 scheduled answers per model per month against roughly 30 for a daily one. For trend work, weekly sampling across a larger prompt set often tells you more than daily sampling across a small one, because answers vary run to run and more questions average that noise out.

How many prompts does a brand actually need?

Most single-market brands land between 50 and 200 once they write out the comparison, alternatives, pricing and use-case questions buyers ask. Multiply by markets and languages if you sell in more than one.

Are these prices current?

We checked every vendor's live pricing page in October 2026, and pricing in this category changes often. Profound no longer publishes a self-serve price, and some vendors show prices in your local currency. Confirm each figure with the vendor before you budget.
