Should I track daily, weekly, or monthly?
Short answer: LLM Pulse offers all three cadences, daily, weekly, and monthly, and weekly is the default. For most brands, weekly is the right choice. Daily and monthly are there for the cases where they fit better.
Why weekly is the default
Two things make weekly the sweet spot for tracking AI visibility.
AI answers are noisy day to day. The same question does not always get the same answer from an AI model. Independent research shows that large language models are non-deterministic: run an identical prompt twice and you can get two different answers, even at the most deterministic temperature setting. One study of ChatGPT on a fixed set of questions found it returned non-deterministic answers roughly 10% of the time even at temperature zero. AI answer features are volatile over time too. A 2025 volatility study by the SEO firm Authoritas found that Google's AI Overviews were far more unstable than traditional organic results (a volatility score around 0.68 for AI Overviews versus around 0.49 for organic), and that AI Overview results changed by roughly 70% over a two-to-three-month window. A large share of the day-to-day movement is sampling noise, not a real change in how your brand is perceived. Weekly sampling averages out the run-to-run randomness while still catching genuine shifts within a few days.
Weekly lets you cover more prompts. Your plan includes an execution allowance, which is your number of prompts multiplied by how often each one runs. Tracking a prompt daily consumes about seven times the executions of tracking it weekly. Most customers would rather spend that allowance on covering more prompts weekly than on fewer prompts daily, because broader prompt coverage reveals more of where your brand does and does not show up in AI answers. Quantity of prompts usually beats frequency of runs, so weekly is the default.
When daily makes sense
Choose daily when you need the tightest feedback loop for a moment that is actually moving:
- A product launch, rebrand, or major announcement
- An active PR situation or reputation issue you want to watch closely
- A live campaign where you are optimizing content week to week
- A fast-moving category, or a GEO test where you want to see the effect of a change as quickly as possible
When monthly makes sense
Choose monthly when a slower pulse is enough:
- Slow-moving categories where AI answers rarely change
- Lighter budgets, where you would rather free up your execution allowance for more prompts
- Executive or client reporting on a monthly rhythm
How to change your cadence
Weekly is set by default on every plan. Daily and monthly tracking are also available. Reach out to support (or your account contact) and we will switch your account to the cadence you want. For the exact times each cadence runs and how soon new data appears, see When does prompt data update?.
