How to Use LLM Pulse for Shopify

LLM Pulse for Shopify brings your LLM Pulse data into Shopify admin. You see how AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode answer your buyers' questions, which of your products they show, and how much revenue they send you. You can also rewrite a product page for AI answers and write the changes back to Shopify in one step.

The app is free to install. It works with an LLM Pulse account on the Scale plan or above, because it connects with an LLM Pulse API key.

Before you start

You need:

  • An LLM Pulse account on the Scale plan or above, with a project that tracks your store's domain.
  • An LLM Pulse API key with Read & write access. To create one, open the profile menu at the bottom left of LLM Pulse and go to API Keys. With a read-only key the app shows your data, but it cannot apply product changes, add buyer prompts or send your AI revenue to LLM Pulse.
  • Permission to install apps in your Shopify store.

The app is not available to accounts that use a white-label portal or an embed.

Install and connect

  1. Install LLM Pulse from the Shopify App Store, or from the install link our team sends you, and open it from Apps in Shopify admin.
  2. Paste your LLM Pulse API key and select Connect.
  3. LLM Pulse matches the store to the project that tracks the same domain. If several projects could match (for example, one project per market), choose the one that tracks this store.

Each LLM Pulse project can be connected to one Shopify store. To move a project to another store, disconnect it in the first store under Settings, then connect it in the new one. To change the key or the project later, paste the key again in Settings.

The app follows the language of your Shopify admin: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Portugal) or Portuguese (Brazil). Any other language shows in English.

What you see in Shopify admin

Page What it shows
Overview Mention Rate, AI Visibility Score, Share of Voice and Mentions for the last 90 days, a weekly trend, results by AI assistant and your main competitors. Only prompts that do not name a brand are counted, so the figures compare you with competitors fairly.
Products in AI Your products that AI assistants show in shopping results, with appearances, best rank, assistants, price and rating, and the competitor products shown most.
Prompts and answers Your tracked prompts with their answers. Open an answer to read it in full, with the products and sources it shows.
Sources The sites and pages AI assistants cite when they answer your prompts, grouped by domain, host or page.
Fixes The product changes you applied from the app, with Revert, and your latest LLM Pulse recommendation.
AI revenue Orders and revenue from shoppers whose first visit came from an AI assistant, by day and by assistant.
Catalog prompts Buyer prompts written from your products, ready to add to tracking.

Data comes from your LLM Pulse project and follows its tracking schedule, so new results appear after each tracking run. Select Refresh data on any page to load the latest figures. Each page also links to the matching page in LLM Pulse.

On each product page

Two LLM Pulse tools appear on the product page in Shopify admin:

  • The LLM Pulse · AI answers block shows how often AI assistants showed the product in shopping results in the last 30 days, its best rank, which assistants showed it, how often its page was cited and which other products were shown more. If no tracked prompt covers the product yet, it offers to add some.
  • The Optimize for AI action (under More actions) proposes a new product title, description, FAQ, SEO title, SEO description and image alt text, based on how AI assistants answer your buyer prompts. You compare each field with the current value and tick the ones to apply. The product title starts unticked, so it changes only if you tick it. A proposal usually takes a few minutes and uses one GEO Writer generation from your LLM Pulse plan.

The app keeps the previous values, so Revert (on the product page or in Fixes) undoes the change. If the product was edited after the change, the app asks before overwriting those edits. Each applied change also becomes an annotation in LLM Pulse, so its effect shows on your charts.

Buyer prompts from your catalog

In Catalog prompts, choose up to 20 products with Select products, then select Suggest prompts. LLM Pulse writes the questions shoppers are likely to ask AI assistants about those products. Tick the ones you want and select Track, or select Dismiss for the ones you do not need. Accepted prompts are added to your project and count towards your plan's prompt limit; their first results appear after the next tracking run.

Revenue from AI assistants

The app reads your Shopify orders, keeps the ones whose first visit came from an AI assistant, and sends LLM Pulse only daily totals per assistant: number of orders and revenue. No customer names, emails, addresses or order details leave Shopify. Orders are synced once a day, when you connect, and when you select Sync now on the AI revenue page.

Privacy and disconnecting

Your API key is stored encrypted and is only used to read and write your project's data in LLM Pulse. Selecting Disconnect in Settings removes the key and the cached data from the app. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored for your store.

Troubleshooting

  • "That does not look like an LLM Pulse API key": copy the key again from API Keys in LLM Pulse. Keys start with llmpulse_.
  • "This needs an LLM Pulse Scale plan or above": upgrade the account in LLM Pulse.
  • "This LLM Pulse account type cannot use the Shopify app": the account uses a white-label portal or an embed.
  • The store does not match a project: check that a project in that account tracks the store's domain, then choose it from the list.
  • "This LLM Pulse project is already connected to another Shopify store": disconnect it in the other store first.
  • Every figure is 0%: AI assistants have not mentioned your brand in the tracked prompts yet. Competitors, products and sources still show what assistants recommend instead. Check Prompts and answers to read the answers.
  • "LLM Pulse is busy": wait the seconds shown and try again.
  • Optimize for AI says the key is read-only: create a Read & write key and paste it in Settings.
