What this report covers
Google AI Overviews are the AI-generated answer boxes that appear at the top of some Google SERPs. Google does not show them on every query — on a large share of searches there is simply no AI Overview at all, and users see the classic blue-link results.
This report tracks how often Google actually serves an AI Overview across the prompts we run every week. Built on the LLM Pulse dataset.
How we measure this

Every week LLM Pulse runs thousands of Google queries via the AI Overviews surface and captures whether the AI Overview actually appeared.

Coverage rate = (queries that returned an AI Overview) / (queries attempted). Queries where Google declined to show an AI Overview count as "no result".
